Dignity and safeguarding in Adult Health and Social Care

Course content:
Learners will investigate the principles and how they are applied in everyday work contexts. They will also have an opportunity to examine the dilemmas that can arise and the consequences when these principles are not upheld.

- Creating better preventative care by enabling staff to reduce the likelihood of abuse or harm.
Last year over 176,000 safeguarding alerts were reported to councils. Physical abuse and neglect was the main trigger for these alerts. This nationally recognised qualification considers the importance of dignity and safeguarding within the adult health and social care sector.
The qualification covers the following topics:- Understanding safeguarding; Principles of dignity; Understanding duty of care; Understanding dilemmas and public concerns in adult health and social care.
